Jacksonville Beach Vacation
Jacksonville is one of the better choices for that first
beach vacation in that it is not one of the Florida top tourist
areas. The traffic isn't bad, the beaches aren't crowded,
and you don't have to worry about the skyrocketed prices on
hotel rooms as well as everything else that you have to buy
while in town. In the bigger Florida cities, there is a far
less chance that you can sit on the beach in peace without
hundreds of people walking in front of and behind you.
Of course, even not being a major tourist trap, there are
still plenty of things to do along the twenty plus miles of
Jacksonville shoreline. There are cruise rentals where you
can spend an entire day with your family on the lovely blue
Atlantic waters, sun bathing on what feels like your very
own yacht while the children stand at the edge and watch the
dolphins burst forth from the waves alongside the ship.
Alternatively, if you are more of the outdoor sports type,
there is deep sea fishing expeditions that you can also book
at one of the many piers along the coastline in
Jacksonville. You can have your choice of different lengths
of outings and different fish to go after. If you are truly
the adventurous type, you can even go after the ultimate
fisherman's prey, the Sharks! Or, if the boating is not
really where your heart is, you can simply fish off the end
of the piers. There are many nice shops that will sell you
bait and provide all your fishing gear for you.
Jacksonville also has an ample supply of nightlife,
restaurants, fine hotels, and even beach house rentals if
you would rather have your own personal space, as many do.
There is golf, tennis, biking, boating and hundreds of other
activities, but without the crowds and ridiculous prices of
the more urban tourist driven areas. If this is your first
beachfront vacation, by all means, make it at the
Jacksonville Beach where you can truly get into the real
beach experience. You are, after all, only a first time
beachcomber only once in your lifetime. Make it count in
Jacksonville Florida.
